Reactive Technologies Secures $31.4M For Global Expansion, Led By M&G
Reactive Technologies, a leader in grid stability measurements based in the UK and Finland, has successfully concluded a Series D funding round, raising £25 million (US$31.4 million). M&G’s Catalyst investment led the round, joined by BGF and Breakthrough Energy Ventures, with EKTA Partners serving as the exclusive financial advisor. This funding will bolster Reactive's global expansion efforts and key hiring initiatives to advance contracted projects worldwide. With renewable energy deployment increasing globally, grid operators face challenges in stability, which Reactive addresses through its GridMetrix® technology, allowing real-time monitoring of power system stability to reduce renewable curtailment, prevent blackouts, and optimize spending on balancing services.
The demand for Reactive's technology is surging as renewables become more integrated into power systems worldwide. This investment, particularly from M&G's Catalyst, underscores Reactive's commitment to supporting the global energy transition with real-time data. CEO Marc Borrett expressed gratitude for the support, emphasizing its significance in scaling operations, expanding internationally, innovating further, and contributing to a clean energy future. Notably, Reactive's GridMetrix® service in the UK is estimated to save approximately 18 million tonnes of CO2 annually, aligning with the pursuit of Net Zero. With successful entry into the US market and projects lined up globally, Reactive anticipates substantial commercial growth and will expand its workforce to accommodate these endeavors, further solidifying its position as a pivotal player in advancing grid resilience and the transition to renewable energy.
