Clearstead Advisors, LLC, a leading RIA, has acquired Wilbanks Smith and Thomas Asset Management, LLC (WST), solidifying its position among the top RIAs in the US. With the merger, Clearstead's total assets under advisement will reach approximately $44 billion, with $20 billion under management, and will expand its team to 225 employees across nine cities. Six WST partners will join as shareholders, increasing the firm's employee ownership to 65. The rebranded Clearstead Advisory Solutions, a Division of Clearstead Advisors, LLC, will continue to serve clients from offices in Norfolk, Roanoke, and Raleigh. Founded in 1990 by CEO Wayne Wilbanks, WST brings 45 employees who share Clearstead's client-centric approach, offering a complementary geographical presence. Clearstead's CEO, Dave Fulton, emphasizes the strategic significance of mergers in bolstering the firm's capabilities and enhancing client service delivery, reflecting their commitment to growth and client satisfaction.
