Boldyn Networks acquires Cellnex's Private Networks, strengthening 5G strategy.
Boldyn Networks, a leading shared network infrastructure provider, is set to acquire Cellnex's private networks business unit, particularly EDZCOM, a Finnish pioneer in private 4G and 5G networks for industrial clients. The move enhances Boldyn's position in digital transformations and Industry 4.0. EDZCOM's experience in over 50 implementations across Europe strengthens Boldyn's status as the largest independent provider of private network solutions. Already involved in global projects like the Moray East wind farm and 5G infrastructure at the Cowtown Coliseum, Boldyn expands its reach with EDZCOM's expertise. The acquisition aligns with the rising demand for private networks, particularly in enterprise automation and real-time control, estimated to generate $109.4 billion globally by 2030. This strategic move accelerates Boldyn's European expansion, targeting key markets in Finland, Spain, Germany, Sweden, and France, as well as increased presence in the UK & Ireland. The transaction, subject to regulatory consents, is expected to close in Q1 2024, solidifying Boldyn's role as a leader in 5G private and converged network infrastructure.
