Fosun International Has Been Awarded The "ESG Benchmark Awards"

 


The ESG Achievement Awards 2022/2023, held in Hong Kong on September 22, honored Fosun International with the "ESG Benchmark Awards" Silver Award for its remarkable achievements in environmental protection, social responsibility, and corporate governance.

Supported by HSIL as the ESG data partner, these awards recognize enterprises demonstrating exceptional ESG performance. The Institute of ESG & Benchmark (IESGB), a non-profit organization, established these awards in collaboration with the Institute of Financial Technologists of Asia (IFTA), with strong support from Hang Seng Indexes Company Limited (HSIL). The awards celebrate organizations dedicated to promoting sustainable development, fulfilling social responsibilities, and delivering excellent corporate governance.

Mr. Joseph Chan JP, Under Secretary for Financial Services & the Treasury of the Hong Kong SAR Government, emphasized Hong Kong's potential to lead in green finance due to its open market, robust infrastructure, regulatory alignment, and professional talent pool.

Fosun International's outstanding ESG ratings, including an AA- HSI ESG rating, selection in the Hang Seng Corporate Sustainability Index, and recognition as an "Industry Mover" by S&P Global, highlight its global recognition. Fosun integrates ESG criteria into its business operations, actively participating in the UN Global Compact and committing to environmental goals, including carbon neutrality by 2050.

The ESG Achievement Awards celebrated 59 organizations across nine categories for their contributions to sustainability, social responsibility, and corporate governance. Notable awardees included Henderson Land Development, AXA, and Ocean Park Hong Kong.
